One of the newer brands to enter the Philippine market is AGI Technologies, a company that offers a range of products including SSDs and memory modules. I had the chance to visit their booth during Computex 2025 in Taiwan, and luckily, they were kind enough to let me bring home a few samples to test out.
In this review, we’ll be taking a closer look at the AGI AI828 M.2 PCIe Gen4 SSD to see how it performs and whether it delivers good value for its price.

Closer Look

The packaging comes in a clean white and green box, keeping things simple and straightforward. Instead of printed specs, AGI uses stickers to indicate the SSD’s speed and capacity.

At the back, you’ll find some basic specifications of the SSD. However, the packaging misses out on clearly stating the model name. It’s only mentioned in the serial label, which can be a bit inconvenient if you’re checking it at a glance.

Inside the box you will find the Documentation, the AGI AI828 M.2 SSD itself and the heatsink.

The heatsink is made of aluminum and comes with a pre-applied adhesive, making it easy to attach directly to the SSD for quick and simple installation.

The AGI AI828 M.2 SSD keeps things clean on the back with no components visible. All the key parts are tucked neatly under the front sticker label.
Test Methodology

Here are the components used for testing the SSD.
Specifications:
ASRock Z790 NOVA WIFI
Intel i5 13600KF
Thermaltake Core P3 Pro Chassis
DeepCool AK620 Air Cooler
Thermaltake GF3 850W Power Supply
Noiseblocker e-Loop-X Fans
For Benchmark Apps we will be using CrystalDiskMark.

Benchmarks
In Sequential Read and Write tests, the results show that it performs slightly below the rated read speed but a bit above the listed write speed on AGI’s spec sheet. As with most SSDs, performance can vary depending on the components used. Meanwhile, its Random Read and Write speeds fall within the typical range for Gen 4 M.2 SSDs in this class.
The operating temperatures also stay within the normal range, showing that the drive maintains stable performance even under load.
Conclusion

AGI didn’t just throw some products in the market just to make some noise. They are here to compete with other big brands in the SSD market. The AGI AI828 is a drive that is marketed on a budget side that performs well and can be compared to premium Gen4 SSDs out there.
Now, it doesn’t always hit the exact numbers AGI advertises, but the performance is still more than solid for what you’re paying. In real-world use, you won’t really feel shortchanged. Load times are quick, transfers are smooth, and overall, it just makes your system feel a lot snappier.
The 1TB model uses the MaxioTech MP1602A controller, which is actually a pretty good pick for a DRAM-less design.
Overall, the AGI AI828 is a good and solid SSD for anyone who wants to add or upgrade their current storage. It may not be the fastest Gen4 SSD on the market, but you will get a great mix of speed, reliability, and value, especially for gamers, content creators, or those who just need an upgrade.
You can buy the AGI AI828 PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD for around $83.00 or P4,795.00 at your nearest AGI-affiliated online and physical stores.
With this, AGI AI828 PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD receives the Recommended Award.
