HONOR continues to bring different features to smartphones across various price ranges. With the HONOR 600S 5G, the focus is on battery life and AI features.

On paper, it has some interesting specifications, including an 8,100mAh battery, 45W fast charging, a 120Hz display, and IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. It also comes with dual speakers with a 400% volume mode and several AI features.

But specifications are one thing. What matters is how these features perform in everyday use and whether the phone is worth its price.

In this review, I’ll share my experience with the HONOR 600S 5G, covering its design, features, performance, and the things I liked and didn’t like.

Closer Look

The packaging comes in white box with the name of the phone. Under the box is some specifications, serial number and IMEI number.

The box contains the HONOR 600S 5G, documentation, 45W power brick, USB cable, and protective case.

Looking closely the HONOR 600S 5G has a simple but familiar design with rounded corners and almost flat sides. The unit we have here comes in Misty Purple which I really like.

It may look that it has three cameras but don’t be fooled. It only has a single 50MP camera at the back while others are the auxiliary lens and flash.

On the side, near the camera, you’ll find the phone’s input/output controls. These include the volume buttons and, finally, the power button which doubles as a fingerprint scanner.

At the bottom, you’ll find the speaker grill, the USB-C Port, and the SIM tray for your dual SIM.

On the other side, you can find the dedicated “AI Button”.

The HONOR 600S 5G comes with a dedicated AI Button on the side, giving you quick access to selected AI features and your favorite apps without having to navigate through multiple menus. Depending on how you configure it, the button can serve as a shortcut for everyday tasks, making frequently used features easier to access.

It’s a small addition, but it can be useful if you often use certain apps or AI tools. Instead of treating it as just another physical button, you can make it part of your daily workflow. Its usefulness, of course, depends on which shortcuts you set up and how often you use them.

AI Phone

AI is another feature HONOR is pushing with the 600S 5G. It comes with tools like AI Image to Video 2.0, AI Eraser, AI Summary, AI Memory, and Circle to Search.

For me, AI Image to Video 2.0 is one of the more interesting features, especially for content creators who want to try something different for their social media posts.

AI Eraser is also useful for removing unwanted objects from photos without needing to open another editing app.

User Experience

I used the HONOR 600S 5G for my usual daily activities, like watching movies and listening to music on Spotify. The speakers sound pretty good for everyday use, and I like that I can crank the volume up to 400% when I need it to be louder.

There is some distortion at maximum volume, but it’s not as bad as what I’ve experienced with other phones. For me, it’s good enough for watching videos or playing music while doing other things, although I’d still prefer using headphones when I want better sound quality.

While watching videos on the HONOR 600S 5G, I noticed that the bezels aren’t symmetrical, with one side looking thicker than the other. It’s not a huge issue, but it’s noticeable, especially when watching content.

The punch-hole camera can also get in the way depending on what’s on the screen. On the bright side, the viewing angles are good, and the display still looks decent when viewed from different positions.

The HONOR 600S 5G has a 50MP main camera, an auxiliary lens, and a 5MP front camera. The main camera should be enough for everyday photos, especially if you’re just taking pictures to share on social media.

Low-light shots are where things get tricky. Photos can look soft and lose fine details, while bright lights may produce unwanted flares. The 5MP selfie camera also struggles in low light, so don’t expect the sharpest selfies.

The same thing can be said about the video; it has the same results in capturing photos, though it doesn’t have any stabilizers.

Benchmarks

Geekbench 7

Wild Life

Sling Shot

PCMARK

I ran the HONOR 600S 5G through several benchmark tests to get a better idea of its performance.

Based on these results, the HONOR 600S 5G should be fine for everyday use, whether you’re browsing, scrolling through social media, watching videos, or switching between apps.

Gaming is a different story, though. I wouldn’t expect it to handle demanding games at high settings, but it should be good enough for casual gaming. For heavier titles, you’ll need to lower the graphics settings to get a smoother experience.

Conclusion

The HONOR 600S 5G focuses on battery life and everyday use. Also, I left it idle with Wi-Fi turned on and a full charge. After more than seven days of checking it from time to time, it still had 15% battery left. That’s impressive and easily one of the best things about this phone.

Aside from the battery, it has a 120Hz display, decent speakers, and useful AI features. However, the cameras are basic, especially in low-light conditions, and the display bezels could have been more symmetrical. Performance is fine for everyday tasks and casual gaming, but don’t expect too much when playing more demanding games.

Overall, the HONOR 600S 5G is a good option for browsing social media, watching videos, listening to music, and casual gaming. I can also see this phone being a good match for delivery riders who are always on the go and need a phone that can last throughout their busy day without constantly looking for a charger.

It’s not the best in every category, but if battery life is your priority, it’s worth considering.

The HONOR 600S 5G starts at around ₱18,999, depending on the storage variant.

PROS:

  • Long Battery Life
  • Smooth Scrolling
  • 5G Connectivity

CONS:

  • Not good for mid to high gaming
  • Asymmetrical Borders
  • Camera not good for low-light
