During the ROG Press Event at Computex 2026, ASUS showcased a number of special Edition 20 products to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary, and one of the peripherals that immediately caught attention was the ROG Azoth Extreme Edition 20.

Seeing it in person, this isn’t a completely new keyboard from the ground up. Instead, ASUS took the already premium ROG Azoth Extreme platform and gave it the full Edition 20 treatment with a collector-focused design that stands out from the standard version.

The first thing you’ll notice is the black-and-gold color scheme. ASUS clearly wanted this keyboard to feel like part of the larger Edition 20 ecosystem shown during the event. The translucent black keycaps, gold accents, and the 24K gold-plated commemorative nameplate make it look more like a display piece than a typical gaming keyboard. Thankfully, it still keeps the clean and premium look that made the original Azoth Extreme appealing in the first place.

Underneath the anniversary styling, the keyboard retains the same enthusiast-focused foundation. It uses a 75% layout housed in an aluminum-alloy chassis and features a carbon-fiber positioning plate along with multiple dampening layers designed to improve typing acoustics and feel. ASUS also continues to offer its adjustable gasket mount system, allowing users to switch between a firmer gaming-oriented typing feel and a softer, more cushioned experience through a simple toggle.

One of the more interesting features that remains is the OLED touchscreen paired with the three-way control knob. During the showcase, it was being used to display system information and settings, but it can also handle media controls, battery monitoring, and custom animations. Unlike many small displays found on gaming peripherals, this one still feels genuinely useful rather than being there purely for aesthetics.

ASUS also continues to push high-performance wireless connectivity with ROG SpeedNova technology. The keyboard supports tri-mode connectivity through 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, and wired USB, while the included Polling Rate Booster enables up to an 8000Hz polling rate in both wired and wireless modes. Battery life is rated for up to 1,600 hours under specific conditions, which remains impressive considering the OLED display and wireless capabilities.

For keyboard enthusiasts, hot-swappable switches remain part of the package. The Edition 20 version introduces refreshed ROG NX Edition 20 switches featuring a transparent housing that better matches the anniversary aesthetic while maintaining the familiar feel of ASUS’ NX switch lineup. Factory lubrication and a reinforced stem design are also retained for smoother and more consistent keystrokes.

After seeing it up close at the event, the ROG Azoth Extreme Edition 20 feels less like ASUS trying to reinvent its flagship keyboard and more like a celebration of one of the strongest products in its current lineup. The underlying hardware was already premium, so ASUS focused on making it more exclusive and collectible without sacrificing the features enthusiasts actually care about.

Whether it ends up being a daily driver or a collector’s centerpiece will depend on the buyer, but there’s no question it was one of the more eye-catching peripherals displayed during the ROG Edition 20 showcase at Computex 2026.
