I’ve reviewed quite a few gaming headsets over the years, from budget models to premium ones with wireless connectivity and a lot of extra features. This time, I’m looking at something much simpler.

In this review, we’ll be taking a closer look at one of the releases during Computex 2026, the Corsair HS35 v3 Gaming Headset, wired version, to see if it’s good for gaming, watching YouTube, listening to music while working, and joining Discord calls.

Closer Look

The packaging comes in the usual-colored yellow and black box, the signature of Corsair. Showcasing some specifications and features that might give users the interest in buying this headset.

Inside you will just find the headset, and the documentation which you will think is kinda unusual for a CORSAIR product.

Picking it up for the first time, the headset feels lighter than I expected. It doesn’t feel cheap, but it also doesn’t feel heavy like some gaming headsets I’ve used before.

The ear cushions are covered with fabric instead of leather. Personally, I like this because they don’t get as warm after wearing them for a while.

The headband uses a floating design, which helps spread the weight across your head. It’s a small thing, but it makes the headset more comfortable.

On the left earcup, you’ll find the volume wheel and the microphone mute switch which will pop in or out depending on if its muted or not. Both are easy to reach while gaming.

To connect the HS35 V3 it uses a 3.5mm male audio jack with a 1.8m cable, which I think is the common length and long enough for most setups. You can also connect it to other devices like Macs, Gaming Consoles and other devices with 3.5mm female audio jack.

Though I don’t like the cable material Corsair used to this headset. I would much prefer if it was a braided cable rather than a rubber one. Based on my experiences, braided ones are much durable and less likely to tangle.

User Experience

The first thing I noticed after using the HS35 v3 for a few hours was the comfort. I normally remove my headset every now and then just to give my ears a break. With this one, I honestly forgot I was wearing it a couple of times.

The fabric ear cushions help a lot, especially since it’s usually hot here. My ears still got warm after a long session, but nowhere near as much as headsets with leather ear cushions.

In terms of gaming experience, the sound quality is not actually bad. You can clearly hear footsteps, and explosions have enough impact without overpowering everything else.

Also, it’s commonly known that you just don’t buy a headset just to use it for gaming. For sure you will use it for music listening or watching YouTube. Vocals are crisp and clear, and the bass is not overly boosted, which makes it good for everyday listening. Though, if you enjoy music with heavy sub-bass and warmth in the mid-range, then you might want to find another headset because you won’t pick this one up.

The microphone also did its job. I used it during a few Discord calls, and nobody complained about how I sounded. It’s not studio quality or record-breaking, but for gaming and online meetings, it’s more than enough.

One thing I still like about wired headsets is that there’s nothing to think about. No charging. No pairing. No software. Just plug it in and start playing.

But not everything is perfect. If your PC does not have an audio-mic combo jack and instead has separate jacks, I regret to say that this has been my experience. You need to buy or use an audio-mic splitter.

Conclusion

The HS35 v3 isn’t trying to be the most feature-packed gaming headset, and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. After using it for several days, what stood out to me wasn’t the sound or the microphone. It was the comfort.

It’s light, easy to wear, and simple to use. If you’re someone who spends hours gaming or even just watching videos on your PC, I think you’ll appreciate that more than flashy features.

If you’re looking for a straightforward wired gaming headset that works with almost any device and is comfortable enough for long gaming sessions, then yes, it is recommendable.

If you’re expecting wireless connectivity, active noise cancellation, or software features, then you might consider the wireless version. But you should expect to spend a little bit more for it.
