Walking through the be quiet! suite here at Computex 2026, one of the things stood out immediately is that they’re not ready to let air cooling fade quietly into the background. Sitting on display was the Dark Rock Pro 6 IO LCD, and it’s clearly their attempt to modernize their product category that’s been unchanged for years.

At first glance, it still carries that familiar Dark Rock identity, big, black, and unapologetically bulky. But front and center are something new (from their air cooler perspective): a 4.5-inch IPS LCD mounted directly onto the cooler. It’s rated at 600 nits, and in person, it’s actually bright enough to be useful, not just a gimmick. You can throw system stats, images, or even videos on it. Whether people will actually use that long-term is another question, but at least it’s not half-baked.

What’s more interesting is how be quiet! is trying to blend this with what they’re already known for, low noise. There’s a semi-passive mode with full fan stop, which means under lighter loads, the fans just don’t spin. In a quiet room, that matters. When it does ramp up, you’re still getting their Silent Wings PWM fans, which have a solid track record already.

Cooling-wise, they didn’t reinvent the wheel, but they didn’t need to. You still get a dual-tower heatsink design backed by 7 heat pipes, and the fin stack looks slightly refined compared to previous generations. It’s still very much brute-force air cooling, just cleaned up a bit.

There’s also a bit more control now. Through their IO Center software, you can switch between quiet and performance modes and tweak fan curves. Nothing groundbreaking, but it brings it closer to what AIO users are already used to.

Here’s the thing: this product feels like be quiet! acknowledging reality. AIOs dominate the high-end space now, mostly because they look better and offer more features. Instead of fighting that, they’re adapting, adding an LCD, improving control, but keeping the reliability and simplicity of air cooling intact.
