Most PSU announcements at Computex 2026 stayed predictable, focusing on efficiency, higher wattage, and ATX 3.1 support. Cooler Master went a slightly different route with the V Platinum V3 Series.

The V Platinum V3 is a fully modular 80 Plus Platinum PSU aimed at high-end gaming and workstation builds. It checks the expected boxes for 2026, including ATX 3.1 compliance, native 12V-2×6 support, and readiness for next-gen GPUs with high transient loads.

What actually stood out wasn’t the PSU itself, but the GPU Shield with Wireless module shown alongside it. Instead of relying only on software, Cooler Master introduced a small external device that provides real-time GPU alerts through lights and sound, while also functioning as a wireless charger for smartphones. It pushes monitoring outside the system, so warnings are visible even without opening any software, while still serving a practical use on the desk.

The idea is clearly aimed at users running expensive GPUs, where power delivery and connector issues have become more of a concern. Rather than checking dashboards, alerts are immediate and hard to miss.

The PSU design itself stayed fairly understated during the demo, with more attention placed on the monitoring setup. While most brands continue to compete on specs, Cooler Master is also looking at how users actually interact with their systems.

Final specs, pricing, and availability weren’t the focus at the booth. Still, pairing a Platinum-rated ATX 3.1 PSU with an external monitoring device that doubles as a wireless charger made the V Platinum V3 one of the more unusual PSU concepts on display this year.
