An ATX 3.1 and PCIe Gen 5.1 Ready Power Supply

Power Supplies are one of the most integral parts of any PC Builds. A great power supply will last you almost a decade that you won’t need to change it every time unless it really needs an upgrade for future components.

In this overview, we will be talking about one of GameMax’s offerings the GameMax RAMPAGE 1050W Power Supply.

Closer Look

The box comes in black and green colors with holographic design and text. At the front you will see that it is claimed to be PCIe 5.1 and ATX 3.1 Ready with a 1050W capacity.

At the back are the specifications and features of the power supply and how many cables it has.

At the side, it shows some features in different languages.

The box contains the GameMax RAMPAGE 1050W Power Supply, the User’s Manual and the Cable Bag.

Inside the cable bag are the Power Supply Cables that consist of one 24-Pin Connector, two CPU Connectors, four PCIe Connectors, one 12VPHWR++ Connector, ten SATA Connectors, three 4-Pin Peripheral Connectors and one FDD Connector. Other things included were the gloves, screwdriver, Velcro straps, Power Supply Screw and a Team GameMax Emblem.

Comparing it to the other Power Supplies I saw with 12VPHWR Connector, this cable is much thinner and doesn’t have any additional cable protection.

The power supply itself comes in black body with white text and designs that makes it neat and classy to look at. The fan of the power supply has the GameMax logo on it.

At the side you will find that one side of the casing has holes and the other has not. It also shows the text GX1050 which indicates the capacity of the power supply which is what you see normaly on other power supplies too.

At the rear there is only one switch, which is the on/off switch and also the power header.

The headers of the power supply are labeled in white text underneath it is the certifications and the rating of the power supply.

The GameMax RAMPAGE 1050W power supply is cooled by a 135mm FDB fan inside. The fan speed will slow down at low loads.

Conclusion

GameMax is an unknown brand here in the Philippines, and its presence in the local market raises several questions among potential consumers. They don’t really have a product here that you can say they can be trusted or not, which leaves many enthusiasts and gamers in a dilemma when considering their options. This uncertainty is particularly concerning when it comes to critical components like Power Supplies, which play a vital role in maintaining the stability and efficiency of a PC. As we always say, “Don’t cheap out on your power supplies,” since a poor-quality unit can lead to system failures or even damage to other hardware components. It is essential for consumers to do thorough research and seek recommendations before committing to a brand that lacks a solid reputation, especially for products that power their valuable gaming rigs and workstations.

Based on my research, some people say they have good experience, some people said it is “trash” some people are still skeptical. Even though you will see the brand in CLEAResult which normally where people go to see if the brand is certified. The last certification was a long time ago.

But, if you will really look into it. You will find the specific Power Supply on Cybernetics, and they pass the test. Seen in the picture above. So, for me, I think we can trust this specific power supply.

Design wise, it is your typical power supply with the branding and all. There’s nothing special about it but I like how they design it especially on the side of the power supply. The white version of this power supply is also neat too.

With that in mind, it is still not easy to recommend this specific Power Supply. Though it has certification from a Cybernetics, there are still few reviews about this power supply. Time will be our partner here to see if this GameMax RAMPAGE 1050W Power Supply will be good or bad in the long run.

Currently the GameMax RAMPAGE 1050W Power Supply retails in $159.99 or P9,350.00.
