It’s been almost five years since Cyberpunk 2077 first launched, and CD Projekt RED is proving that Night City isn’t done evolving. Rolling out tomorrow, Update 2.3 brings a hefty lineup of new features and fixes to the game for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A Nintendo Switch 2 release for the Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition is also in the pipeline, although there’s no exact date yet.

Whether you’re in it for the cars, the visuals, or the tech behind the game, there’s a lot to break down.

New Rides, AutoDrive, and Delamain’s Return

Let’s start with the vehicles. Patch 2.3 adds four new rides, each tied to side jobs that give more weight to the way you unlock them:

  • Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru
  • Rayfield Caliburn “Mordred”
  • Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa
  • Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila

These aren’t just reskins. Some of them unlock CrystalCoat™, a paint tech now available not just for Rayfield vehicles but also for motorcycles and even lower-end cars, thanks to an in-lore exploit by hacker Cosmetic_Troll. Expect dynamic color schemes unless you’re driving a Nomad beater or a mission-related vehicle.

Then comes the big one. AutoDrive is finally here. You can now sit back and let your vehicle drive you to your pinned location or simply cruise the streets of Night City. Just get into your car, hold the H key on PC or the Left Stick on consoles, and enjoy the ride. For extra flair, you can activate Cinematic Camera Mode by holding Q or pressing the D-Pad Right, giving you sweeping views of the city as you move.

On top of that, Delamain’s self-driving cabs are now fully operational. After completing the “Don’t Lose Your Mind” mission, you’ll unlock the ability to call a Delamain cab just like any other vehicle.

Photo Mode Gets a Full Upgrade

Photo Mode now feels more like a core feature than an afterthought. CDPR added 27 new NPCs, including familiar faces like Dum Dum, Rita Wheeler, the Cassel twins, and even the iguana. You can now:

  • Toggle NPC outfits
  • Swap between V’s saved Wardrobe looks
  • Use new eye-only Look-at-Camera options
  • Add custom color filters using the new Color Balance tab
  • Apply new stickers, frames, and quote overlays

Depth of Field has also been moved to the Camera tab for easier access. Overall, it’s a solid upgrade for content creators and casual photo junkies alike.

Small Fixes That Make a Big Difference

Update 2.3 includes several quality-of-life tweaks that players have been asking for:

  • Inverted mouse prompts now auto-adjust
  • A toggle option for aiming down sights has been added
  • CrystalCoat visual bugs have been addressed
  • Side jobs like “Sex on Wheels” and “Shot by Both Sides” now register properly in the Journal

One fun addition is the option to tell Johnny Silverhand to disappear if you look at him long enough in the passenger seat. He gets the message and won’t show up for a few days.

Cyberpunk Comes to Mac and PC Gets Even More Boosts

The biggest surprise here is platform expansion. Cyberpunk 2077 is now officially supported on Apple Silicon Macs. You can purchase it via the Mac App Store or continue playing through GOG, Steam, or Epic Games if you already own it. Just make sure to check the official specs before diving in.

For PC players, there are a lot of new toys to play with:

  • AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation support
  • Intel XeSS 2.0 support
  • HDR10+ GAMING for certified Intel GPUs
  • FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (coming once AMD releases the supporting driver)

The update also increases the save file size limit to 15MB and fixes issues like invisible DLSS preset reverts. You can now even move your mouse cursor between monitors in Borderless Window mode.

Consoles Get Some Love Too

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players now benefit from Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support. On the PS5, foliage now correctly reacts to dynamic weather, fixing a long-standing visual bug.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.3 isn’t just another patch. It’s a reminder that CD Projekt RED is still committed to refining the experience, even nearly half a decade after launch. With new vehicles, deeper Photo Mode features, platform expansions, and a smarter, more responsive world, the game feels fresher than ever.

And if you’re waiting to experience all this on the Switch 2, hang tight. Night City’s got more stories to tell.
