I got to check out the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 Pro Edition 20 during the ROG press event at Computex 2026, and it’s clearly built to be both a high-performance router and a display piece for enthusiasts.
Design-wise, it leans heavily into that Edition 20 look with gold accents on a black chassis. It’s flashy, but not in a cheap way. In person, it actually feels premium and solid, something you wouldn’t mind putting front and center in a high-end setup instead of hiding on a shelf.
On the technical side, this is a quad-band WiFi 7 router, and ASUS is pushing all the latest features here including 320MHz bandwidth, 4096-QAM, and Multi-Link Operation. The claimed speeds go up to 30Gbps, which is obviously overkill for most setups today, but it gives you a lot of headroom, especially if you’re running multiple high-bandwidth devices or doing content work alongside gaming.
For gaming, it comes with the usual ROG-focused features like triple-level game acceleration and a dedicated gaming port. The idea is simple. It prioritizes your game traffic so you get lower latency and more stable connections, especially when the network is busy.
Port selection is also stacked. You’re getting dual 10G ports and four 2.5G ports, so there’s plenty of flexibility for wired setups, NAS systems, or multi-PC environments. It’s clearly designed for users who actually take advantage of high-speed networking, not just basic home use.
Security and VPN features are also part of the package, which is expected at this level, especially for users who want more control over their network.
The GT-BE98 Pro Edition 20 feels like a no-compromise router. It’s not trying to be practical or affordable. It’s built for enthusiasts who want top-end performance, aggressive styling, and enough bandwidth to handle just about anything you throw at it.
